The story of a place, a couple and a terroir

chateau de Connigis Domaine Champagne Paul Maurice

The château de Connigis

The Château de Connigis, whose origins date back to the 16th century, has stood the test of time while preserving its character. It became part of Andrea’s family heritage in the 19th century.

Today, it is both our home and the heart of the estate. It’s where we work, where we vinify, and where the core of our project takes shape. More than just a setting, the château is an anchor : the place around which our winegrowing adventure continues to grow.

A Single Parcel to Begin With

Just above the château lies Les Sautours, one of the estate’s oldest vineyard plots. It embodies the link between the place, the vines, and our daily work. It was from this plot that we created our first single-parcel cuvée, vinified here at the estate with a simple and straightforward approach.

A project built together

The Champagne Paul Maurice story began in 2015, driven by the desire to build something together, rooted in our personal paths and our connection to the local vineyards.

We work side by side every day, in the vines and in the cellar. This hands-on approach allows us to stay closely connected to every plot and every cuvée. Demanding and precise, we aim to do things well, with care and consistency.

In the vineyard, every gesture matters. We work rigorously throughout the year to produce healthy, balanced, and perfectly ripe grapes — the foundation of quality wines.

Our approach blends respect for tradition with a fresh perspective. We keep learning as we go, testing, adjusting, refining. Our first independent harvest in 2020 marked the beginning of an artisanal journey that we continue to build step by step.

Three villages, one commitment

Notre vignoble de 8,5 hectares est répartis sur 3 villages :
ConnigisOur 8.5-hectare vineyard extends across three villages: Connigis, with its steep slopes, clay-limestone soils, and a strong presence of Meunier. Gland, facing south on the right bank of the Marne Valley. Charly-sur-Marne, located to the southwest of Château-Thierry.
Gland, exposé plein sud sur la rive droite de la Vallée de la Marne
Charly-sur-Marne, au sud-ouest de Château-Thierry

We know each hillside and each nuance of soil, adapting our practices to the needs of every parcel.

Our commitment to the environment is self-evident. We are certified HVE3 (High Environmental Value) and VDC (Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne). Acknowledgements that simply reflect what we do every day: observe, anticipate, and respect.

This attentive work gives rise to expressive grapes that contribute both to the cooperative cuvées and to those vinified on the estate.
